On the days when your child seems to have endless energy, here are some ideas to help get those wiggles out!

Bubble Wrap Stomp

I pull a square of bubble wrap off and put it on the ground. The combination of stomping and hearing the pops makes it very fun.

Sprinklers

Super easy. Outside in the sun and running around in the water.

Ball Down the Stairs (aka Fetch with Your Child)

My son will drop a ball through the banister, watch it go down the stairs, and then go and retrieve it. Is this a game of fetch? Yes. Have I also used this activity with my dog? Also, yes.

Jump like a Frog / Hop like a Bunny / etc

Kids love acting like animals. Might as well have them get energy out too!

Race around the Room

I got this one from my son’s nursery class at church. He loves when we say, “One, two, three, go!” And then proceeds to run around the house.

Somersault

This is a new favorite trick of my son’s. He will somersault after somersault.

Chase and Stomp Bubbles

Get a bubble machine (even a small one) and have them chase the bubbles and try to pop them. My son likes to stomp on the bubbles that land in the grass.

Freeze dance

Although this isn’t one that my son does, other kids like doing it. When the song plays, they dance, and when you pause the song, they have to freeze.

Chase the dog

Have them chase the dog around the yard. This will get the wiggles out of your child and your dog!
